OVERVIEW AND EXPERIENCE
Emily Yacuzzo grew up in High Point, North Carolina. She graduated high school from Penn-Griffin School for the Arts and went on to attend High Point University with a Say Yes Guilford Full Scholarship. While matriculating through HPU, Emily was a President’s Scholar, which recognizes students that demonstrate outstanding achievement, good citizenship, strong leadership, and exceptional scholarship. Emily received her bachelor’s degree with a double major in Political Science and History, and was a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society. Emily was also a member of the Bonner Leadership Program at HPU, where she participated in numerous community service programs and events. She enjoys helping others and her community and was awarded the Community Impact Student Award by the North Carolina Campus Compact. In addition, Emily was selected to participate in the Summer Policy Institute at the NC Justice Center, where she had the opportunity to learn more about policies that affect our communities. Emily also interned with the YWCA of High Point.
Outside of the office, Emily enjoys multiple artistic pursuits. She has played the flute for 10 years and is currently a member of her local community concert band. Emily is also a self-taught artist and spends the majority of her free time honing this craft through both digital and traditional art. She shares her artwork online on several platforms, including an online shop where she sells copies of her works. Emily’s other hobbies include listening to music and playing video games.
